About Mr. Weston Strings
Dear Musician Friend,
Thank you for visiting Mr. Weston Strings. After successfully teaching middle school orchestra in the Pacific Northwest for the past 12 years, I have acquired quite a bit of experience and knowledge on how to play violin, viola, cello and bass. I have also developed some streamlined systems for teaching students to read music. These processes have been refined year after year such that the musical concepts and playing techniques are understood by my students with ease and excitement.
Many of the concepts for teaching music on this website are completely original. Other ideas have been gathered from workshops, clinicians and colleagues. Collectively these practical music lessons have become Mr. Weston’s Music Learning System.
My hope is studio and orchestra teachers/students, beginners ages 5 to 99, and DIYiers will find www.MrWestonStrings.com as the most helpful, comprehensive and practical music learning hub on the internet for gaining confidence in reading music, establishing great technique for posture, bow hand and fingering hand when playing violin, viola, cello and bass. I truly believe everyone no matter your age can learn to play the violin, viola, cello, or bass and it is never too late to start the journey.
I would love to hear of your musical successes and challenges in your own musical journey. In addition I am always looking for new ideas and better ways to teach. You’re welcome to reach out to me through the form below to continue the musical conversation.
Best in Success!
